Microsoft's AI Security Tool Finds 16 Windows Flaws Fixed This Month

Microsoft announced that its AI-powered security tool, called MDASH, found 16 previously unknown security vulnerabilities in Windows. All 16 were fixed and included in this month’s Patch Tuesday update — the regular monthly batch of security fixes that Microsoft releases on the second Tuesday of each month.

This is actually great news. Instead of waiting for outside attackers to discover and exploit these flaws, Microsoft’s own AI found them first and quietly fixed them before anyone could be harmed. Running the latest Windows updates means all 16 of these flaws are already patched on your computer.

How to check if you’re affected

Affected versions include Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices that have not yet applied the May 2026 cumulative update. Here is how to check:

  1. Open Settings → Windows Update and click Check for updates.
  2. If you see a pending update labeled “May 2026 Cumulative Update,” install it and restart when prompted.
  3. Once installed, you are protected from all 16 vulnerabilities.
